Brief
What we set out to achieve
- Simplify collecting materials from clients
- Put an end to the chaos of e-mail attachments
- Send files several gigabytes in size
- Secure storage and an overview of who delivered what
Challenge
Why we took it on
E-mail has a limit on attachment size, links to outside storage get lost in conversations and nobody has an overview of what the client has already sent and what is still missing.
We needed one place where a client can easily upload files several gigabytes in size and where the files are stored safely with the right job.
Solution
What we did and why
Drag and drop. Files can simply be dragged into the window (drag & drop) or picked by clicking. A single file can be up to 20 GB.
Transfer in parts. Files over 20 MB are split into smaller parts that are sent three at a time. The transfer is smoother and the server does not have to handle one huge file at once.
A real-time overview. The app shows the transfer queue, the speed in MB/s, the number of parts sent, the volume transferred and the finished files. A status badge shows whether the server is ready.
Security and order. The transfer is encrypted, file types are checked and files are sorted automatically by client and job. An alert arrives whenever new files come in.
